Popular Tamil-Telugu actor Suriya, who played the lead role in original Ghajini (Tamil), is reportedly making his debut in Bollywood with maverick director Ram Gopal Varma's forthcoming bilingual project Rakta Charitra, to be simultaneously made in Hindi and Telugu.
Starring actor Vivek Oberoi as rebel-turned politician Paritala Ravi, one of the most feared individuals in the blood-ridden faction politics of South India, Rakta Charitra will have Suriya playing a key role as Maddalcheruvu Suri, Paritala Ravi’s opponent. According to sources, Suriya's role is almost equal to the lead protagonist. Shooting will commence in August.
Ram Gopal Varma has reportedly made a script that lasts for about five hours on screen. Hence, he divided the theme into two parts as Rakta Charitra 1 and Rakta Charitra 2. While the first part shows the rise of Paritala Ravi from forest to ballot, the second part deals with how he was trapped in the conspiracies of opponents. To be produced by Madhu Mantena, the film would be shot in one stretch once Varma wraps up the shooting of Rann.
