Bipasha Basu to dance on New Year for Rs 2 Crore

The sultry seductress Bipasha Basu would be welcoming the year 2010, with her performance in hotel Sahara Star. The announcement for the same was made today in an event organized by the hotel Sahara Star. Confirming Bipasha’s performance, Mr. Vivek Kumar, CEO, Hotel Sahara Star says, “Hotel Sahara Star bids goodbye to the year gone by and lures you into the New Year with Seduction 2010- the happiest, happening and most sought party of the year, who will be performing on the evening of 31st December.”

Though the song on which Bipasha is going to perform is not yet disclosed. Along with that, the names of the other stars who are to perform on New Year’s Eve is also being kept under wraps.The organizers best know the amount that is being charged by Bipasha Basu for the event, but it is heard that they have paid her a hefty amount to make the event successful.

Last year it was rumored that Bipasha was charging a whopping Rs 1.5 crores for her performance at Sahara Star hotel in Mumbai.

According to reports, the incident occurred when Bipasha, who is a staunch Bengali, decided to participate in the Durga Puja festivities at The North Bombay Sarvojonin Durga Puja in Santacruz with boyfriend John Abraham.

“Bipasha and John came together for the Durga Puja in the evening and Bipasha was very excited as has always been part of Durga Pujas in Mumbai over the years. How do you rate your body on a scale of one to ten?
It depends - as a woman or on an athletic level. As a woman, I would rate myself 8/10 while on an athletic scale I would rate myself 7/10.

Which is your favorite body part?
My legs. I need to work out the least on my legs. I genetically have long legs and they're always pretty toned.
Name one B-Town actress who has a better body than you.
I don't look at other girls' bodies (laughs). But I think all actresses here have good bodies. In today's times nobody is out of shape.

One Hollywood actress whose frame you admire?
Halle Berry. She has a great body. I feel as a woman you have to have curves and a toned body. You can't be very thin or you look under- nourished. A woman, who is tall, well-built, and curvaceous yet toned with a good body is my idea of a perfect frame. Indian women are blessed with great curves but we just need to tone our bodies.

What's the best compliment you have received?
I have received many but right now after a decade in the business I find it a huge compliment to be in the No 1 position in Maxim's Hot 100 especially as it has a worldwide circulation. I also got many compliments for the sports shoe campaign I shot with Mahendra Singh Dhoni. I also got many compliments for the bikini in Dhoom 2.

After 10 years have you become blase about your body?
Not at all. That's why I still work out for a hour and a half every day. It's not just about looking good but also being healthy and fit.

Would you rather be called sexy or smart?
I think sexiness is a personality trait while smartness is an adjective which is include in one's personality. I am both sexy and smart.

What's the worst thing about being a sex symbol?
It's the assumptions that people have - that sexy women can't be intelligent or that they are easily available. It's about who is what individually. One cannot generalize. Fortunately neither of these assumptions has never bothered me.

Bipasha Basu blinded Temporarily

Bipasha Basu recently suffered a bad bout of food poisoning in Kadaikudi, while shooting for Priyadarshan.'s film with Ajay Devgan. She also got an allergy that made her eyes swell up and shut tight. Bipasha confirms, "I have a strong eye allergy (due to dust, flowers, make-up) for years; so before putting on any eye make-up I need to have medication for my eyes. Unfortunately, I had become so ill prior to that I forgot to take any eye medication. I already had a severe bout of food poisoning and was bedridden for a couple of days. I became so weak that they had to call a local doctor."

The eye allergy Bipasha says was the result of some flowers her yoga teacher got to cheer her up when she was recovering from the food poisoning, "I was so thrilled to recieve the bonquet that I held them close to my face to smell them and then wham! My eyes swelled up and shut tight the next day. Obviously, I couldn't shoot like that so they had to cancel my shoot for two days. I was on antibiotics for 5 days. I became a bit better before I returned to Mumbai for the release of the music of All The Best in Siddhivinayak."Bips jokes, "Earlier too my eye has had problems because of the allergy; this became the baap of all allergies."

Angelina Jolie’s `desi` counterpart Bipasha Basu is all set to scorch the screen and tantalize the cine-goers provocatively in his new film, which is said to be inspired by ‘Tomb Raider’.

And she also has an international co-star for company – Billy Zane of ‘Titanic’ fame. Not only Bips has a challenging role, she is fortunate to be directed by the famous animator David Silverman in the film.
