Shahrukh prefers money, Aamir chooses class

Never the one to let go of good financial opportunities, Shahrukh Khan knows how to perfectly capitalise on them. But Aamir Khan seems to be in a completely different league altogether. A recent instance brought to light that when it comes to money both the Khans are as different as chalk and cheese.

A source revealed, "Shahrukh Khan charged a whopping Rs.30 lakh for releasing a book written by management guru Arindam Chaudhari, earlier this month in Delhi. But when an upcoming writer approached Aamir for his book launch, Aamir agreed on one condition to do it and that is if he liked the book.

Aamir it is learnt has told this writer to wait for some days till he can go through the book. And what you think Aamir would charge for doing the honours? Zero Rupees! Yes, thats because Aamir Khan feels it’s an insult to the Hindu Goddess of learning, Saraswati, if you try to make money out of such things."

Shahrukh protects Asin at event

This is one incident that Asin Thottumkal won’t forget in a rush. At a current event she was surrounded by around 300 people who had got too close for soothe. However, it was none other than Shah Rukh Khan who came to her rescue. Had Shah Rukh not intervened in the nick of time, this would perhaps have been Asin’s worst understanding in Mumbai. An actor who was present there said, “The organisers had made a make-shift cubicle near the offstage where the stars were ushered in before they were supposed to go on stage.

Asin was about to enter the cubicle when the incident occurred.”She suddenly found herself surrounded by 300 people. She had only her spokesperson for company. Even as the duo was screaming for help, the crowd got within touching distance.Asin panicked when some over-enthusiastic fans tried to touch her on the pretext of shaking her hand. That was when Shah Rukh, who was supposed to go on stage next, intervened.”He instantly ordered his bodyguards to cut through the crowd and reach Asin. Before the crowd could realise what was happening, Shah Rukh with his six bodyguards reached where Asin was standing.

He grabbed her hand with his right hand and with his left, he caught hold of Asin’s spokesperson and dragged them outside the melee,” the actor added.Shah Rukh’s bodyguards have been trained in crowd management and they immediately formed a ring around Asin and Shah Rukh.”Shah Rukh and Asin had a long chat after the event. SRK is always one step ahead of Aamir

If Aamir Khan can go all out to endorse 3 Idiots, will SRK lag following? Aamir’s promotional strategy had floored everyone. So, SRK went ahead and released the first look of My Name Is Khan (MNIK) at the opening of the super Hollywood flick, Avtaar, by James Cameron. But King Khan insists he isn’t copying Aamir for the promotion of his film that has been directed by his friend Karan Johar.Talking about Aamir’s promotional strategy and his own for MNIK, he said: “Everyone has their own ideas and plans. I wouldn’t like to do so (what Aamir did) and reduce my film to anything (like a gimmick but he didn’t exactly use the word). I don’t really think about someone else’s film.

Aamir is a good- thinking person, so he must know what he is doing. And I estimate the idea must be in sync with his film’s plot too. I think everybody should market the film in the way the film speaks or is. Of course, the more innovative its promotions the better. MNIK is a love story at the core and we will market it that way. For rest, you will have to wait and watch.” 20th Century Fox will showcase MNIK’s trailer with all its prints universal and it will get a much wider exposure. “I am really thankful to them for doing so. It’s a first for a Hindi film. Fox Star Studios’ is distributing the movie and they will be a big help in increasing our market by making bigger films,” said Shah Rukh.

MNIK will also be showcased in the Berlin Film Festival and Karan is thrilled about it. Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Karan will be present at the festival, which is from February 11 to February 21. Unproven reports claimed Fox bought the film for Rs 100 crore and plans to release it with over 600 prints world over. It will assurance the widest release ever for a Hindi film.

She has marvelous appeal as an actress and her voice and delivery is terrific.” “Priyanka is disciplined, talented and a very professional girl. I’m fond of her,” SRK further said.

On the other hand, Priyanka says, “I’m Shah Rukh’s most ardent fan. When I was younger, my parents would have to put on ‘Chamatkar’ for me, if they wanted me to eat my food. I have seen the movie at least 35 times.” “I can’t speak to SRK by his name, and I don’t want to call him ‘Sir’ because I think that is too formal. Also the truth is, when SRK is around, I’m normally speechless. Seeing my icon in flesh has that effect on me,” Priyanka Chopra adds

Sushmita banks on Shahrukh for comeback

Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen is desperately looking for a foothold in the industry. And she has none other than her Main Hoon Na co- star Shah Rukh Khan to help her with the same. Sushmita, whose big- budget period film on Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi is yet to see the light of day, is now banking on Dulha Mil Gaya. The film, directed by Mudassar Aziz, has SRK in a guest appearance. The long- pending film has not yet found distributers despite Shah Rukh’s presence, but promotions are on in full swing. It is expected to be ready for release in January 2010.

During promotions, Sushmita has not stopped talking about a particular golden gown that she had to wear for a song sequence. It was reportedly so uncomfortable that it bruised her.The gown was made of a material that was harsh on her skin. But the actress, who is known for her tantrums, did not complain even once.A source from the production house said: ” The dress was undoubtedly gorgeous. But the material used to hurt Sushmita. She still wore the dress for the shoot, which lasted almost four days.” Unit members also concur.

The actress was not fussy about the dress at all. In fact, she was cooperative and finished the shoot properly. ” She wanted to prove she is a thorough professional,” another source said. And, if the sources are to be believed, it was no mean effort. Sush’s body bore bruises by the time the shoot was over!

Why Shahrukh did not attend Farah’s show?

Speculations of a crack in the friendship between Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan are doing rounds since Farah has signed Akshay Kumar as a hero for her next film Tees Maar Khan. Recent development shows that there is element of truth in these speculations. Recently Farah choreographed a lingerie show for Triumph, almost whole of the Bollywod was present for the show but Farah’s best buddy Shahrukh’s absence made tongue’s wagging.

Rumors are that SRK is upset about the fact that Farah has signed Akshay for her next film. Sources claim that SRK refused to attend the show on the pretext that he doesn’t enjoy watching half nude models doing catwalk on the ramp.Though this just an excuse from the SRK, because he knew Akki will be attending the show and he didn’t wanted to come face to face with him. Akshay came with wife Twinkle and he was the center of attraction all evening.

Farah claims that there is nothing wrong between her and SRK. She adds that he doesn’t like the idea of watching women walking on the ramp wearing lingerie. Last year too he did not attend the show citing this very reason. Farah and SRK’s friend Karan Johar too says that Shahrukh feels shy while watching lingerie show. When someone asked Akshay Kumar that Shahrukh didn’t attend the show because of his awkwardness, he quipped, “No, I don’t think he is shy to watch a lingerie show.”

I always wanted to be a po-rn star: SRK

No body can beat Shah Rukh Khan when it comes to taking pot shots at himself. The Bollywood star was at his wittiest when he shared his aspiration of becoming a porn star.

The actor was here to launch management guru Arindam Chaudhuri's new book Discover the Diamond in You when he revealed his desire.

"I always wanted to be porn star. I am going to work with all the positivity and clarity to be a porn star," Shah Rukh said much to the amusement of the packed audience.

And where did this inspiration arise from? "I have always been a huge fan of Sylvester Stallone who was a porn star before becoming Hollywood superstar," the actor said.

Shah Rukh, famous for his outrageously funny remarks did tickle the funny bone of the audience who was in for a laugh riot while listening to the actor.

And it was the icing on the cake when the actor said, "I will take my flag and put it up in America after becoming the biggest porn star of the world."

The whole joke started when Chaudhuri, while reading excerpts from his book gave example of Stallone's determination and his journey from a porn star to becoming one of the Hollywood's icons.

He also referred how Akio Morita, founder of Sony, Japanese electronics giant, started the company with a dream to have his country's flag flutter high on the soils of US. "You see that is what happens with students like me who take all the wrong things from best of the examples given to them," Shah Rukh jested.

Aamir didn’t have to apologise: SRK

It seems that Shah Rukh Khan has buried the hatchet with Aamir Khan ever since the Ghajini star apologised to his children for making fun of him. Shah Rukh said he has no hard feelings towards his colleague.”We often visit each other’s home and we have love and respect for each other. I don’t think there was any need for him to apologise because, it is not really a big thing for me.Both of us don’t take these things seriously, but it is the media that exaggerates the whole situation,” Shah Rukh said via tele-conference Thursday from Mumbai.

Aamir tendered an apology to Shah Rukh’s kids for hurting their sentiments before taking a pot shot at the latter when he addressed his wife Kiran in front of the media as “Kkk… Kiran” – a style made famous by Shah Rukh in his 1993 hit Darr.”I’ve offered my heartfelt apologies to Shah Rukh’s kids, not to Shah Rukh but to his kids,” Aamir had recently said. The two superstars have often taken digs at each other.

I haven’t apologised to Shahrukh: Aamir Khan

It seemed that all had settled down between film industry’s biggest superstars Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan. In a recent TV chat show Aamir had apologised to Shahrukh Khan for writing a blog where he had mentioned that he had a pet dog called Shahrukh. Many in the industry had felt that Aamir was done with the rivalry and had extended an olive branch to SRK. But the 3 Idiots stars might not have meant what was understood by most in the tinsel town.

Aamir who was attending the release of a coffee table book on Guru Dutt said that he hasn’t apologised to Shahrukh and he sees no reason to do so. Aamir added that he had apologised Shahrukh’s children as they felt hurt reading his blog more than a year ago. He said that he was upset to hear that Shahrukh’s children were unhappy with what her wrote and he had no intention of hurting them. He also said that he had stopped calling his dog by that name.

Incidentally Shahrukh’s closest ally Karan Johar was sharing a genuine camaraderie with Aamir when the Ghajini star made these clarifications. Also present on the occasion was Katrina Kaif who might soon be seen in a movie with Aamir based on the real life story of Bollywood legends Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman. The event was hosted by liquor baron Vijay Malya who is Shahrukh Khan’s arch rival when it comes to the IPL.

Middle aged SRK still a 25-yr-old at heart

Sharing his birthday celebration with the media at his residence, Mannat, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan appeared at his enthusiastic best. Showered with cakes and presents, the ‘Baadshah’ appeared younger and energetic after almost a year’s absence from the silver screen owing to his injuries.

"I have been in my 40s since a few years now and I gracefully accept the age. But honestly, I feel like I am just 25 or 26 except for the physical problems I`ve had in my past year," Shah Rukh told reporters here.

"Maybe I look older, but then when I look younger, people say I get plastic surgeries done to my face. When I look old, they say I am over and done with. But the fact is that when I sleep well, I look young and when I don`t get enough sleep, I look old," he quipped.

Contemplating over his last year, the actor said that, “The year has been unfortunate with respect to physical work because of my injury but emotionally it has been wonderful. I have had ample time for introspection, quiet living and spent quality time with loved ones. I also had time to work on my book.”

Talking about his commitment to work and society, the superstar said, “I want to give back a lot more quality work. Twenty years back I felt strongly about becoming an actor. Now, I strongly feel that I want to do something for youngsters, underprivileged girls and talk to 16- 17-year-old children who are on the threshold of voting for the government and lead the world forward".

"I don`t know whether I want to join an NGO or something of the likes, but in my heart, I have this strong feeling that I want to give something back to society," he said.

Asin refuses to work with Shahrukh

Asin you may think is a very level headed girl. After all, she has made a great start in Bollywood with Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan and now has moved on to her next film with not one but two big actors Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan in London Dreams. So, when a little birdie told me that the girl from down south had refused to star in Farah Khan’s upcoming project Happy New Year opposite Shah Rukh Khan, I couldn’t but wonder why?

Well, it so happens that Farah had kept in touch with Asin ever since she made an appearance on her tv show Tere Mere Beach Mein and asked her whether she would like to work with her in her forthcoming project. Asin thought over the offer and apparently after discussing with her father gave her answer – in the negative. A little birdie told me that the actress cited ‘date problems’ as her reason for refusing Farah’s film.

But well… one can’t help but wonder whether her decision had anything to do with her co-stars from Ghajini and London Dreams. However, I found out that now Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have set their eyes on Farah’s film. Kareena Kapoor may also join the fight. After all who doesn’t want to be a part of a Farah Khan film opposite the King Khan? Apart from of course Asin!
