Bollywood actress Lara Dutta is fond of designer clothes. Recently, she chooses an attire from the collection of a well known designer. Lara selected one of the pink dresses which were displayed at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) on Saturday. Designer Wendell Rodricks is very happy by Lara’s move and has become a fan of Lara.Rodricks is singing praises of Lara.

He tells everyone how Lara purchased a dress from his spring-summer collection.Rodricks said that after tying three of his red carpet evening gowns in Goa, Lara picked up the pink one.Sources said that the designer approached Lara for walking the WIFW ramp for him, but the actress couldn’t take time off from her hectic program.

Lara Dutta’s bikini look in ‘Blue’

Actress Lara Dutta was last seen in ‘Billu Barber’ in a de-glam avatar. She is now set to add the oomph factor in the forthcoming ‘Blue’ with her bikini avatar. Lara has worked very hard with strict diet and training regime to get the lean look that she flaunts in a bikini in the film.

She has also learnt swimming and scuba diving for the film. It may be mentioned here that earlier Lara used to shy away from the roles which required her to swim. She has a titillating underwater romantic song with Sanjay Dutt in the flick.
‘Blue’ is apparently Bollywood’s first underwater film and perhaps the most expensive one too. Film’s director Anthony D’Souza has used latest techniques to give it an international look.

The music of the film is given by none other than music maestro AR Rahman. Shot in Bahamas, the movie also stars Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Zayed Khan, Katrina Kaif and Rahul Dev who will be seen swimming, diving and escaping predatory sharks.

Akshay’s character is called Aarav which is his son’s name in real life. Sanjay Dutt plays the role of a fisherman, who also happens to be Akshay’s friend.

Lara Dutta, latest Bollywood entrant on Twitter

After Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor and Mallika Sherawat, Bollywood actress Lara Dutta is the latest celebrity to enter the world of Twitter.
The former Miss Universe, who is currently shooting for her upcoming film `Housefull` that also stars Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Jiah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, was helped by her co-star Riteish in setting up the Twitter account.

"Hiya! Just set up my account with help from RD on the sets of Housefull! Very excited!," Lara wrote in her first tweet on the micro-blogging website.

Riteish also expressed his happiness on Lara`s entry in the world of Twitter.

"Guys. just got Lara on twitter.@DuttaLara," the `Hey Baby` actor wrote on his webpage.

However, `Housefull` director Sajid Khan was not too happy with the `Twitter` activity on the sets of his film.

"Hi guys, this is Sajid Khan. Please do this later as I need Riteish and Lara on the set, Sethji-Akki (Akshay Kumar) is waiting along with Arjuna," the director wrote on Riteish`s twitter page.

The 31-year-old actress now joins the list of Bollywood celebrities including Karan Johar, Uday Chopra and Gul Panag on Twitter and already has 484 followers just three hours after making her account on the popular networking website.

Dino doesn't invite ex-girlfriend for Launch of new restaurant

While Lara Dutta remained in touch with ex-boyfriend Kelly Dorje after she split with him, she is not on talking terms with Dino Morea, after their recent break-up. Which is why Dino didn't invite her to the launch of a new branch of a hotel chain owned by him.
Says a source close to Dino, "Lara and Dino's relationship ended on a bitter note. Dino went through hell trying to cope with the sudden termination of the relationship by the actress. He was shocked when Lara spoke about their break-up to friends, and even in an interview, when all along, she had forbidden him to speak about them being together.

Today, their relationship has soured to the extent that Lara, who used to be seen at most of Dino's parties and events even as friends, was conspicuous by her absence at Dino's opening of Crépe Station at Oshiwara."

Dino says, "I don't want to talk about it." When we ask Lara whether she didn't come for the launch because she wasn't invited and that she's not on talking terms with Dino, Lara says, "I am in London shooting for House Full."

Katrina, Lara refuse Govinda!

Govinda is in a state of shock. The actor had taken the onus of convincing a prominent leading lady of Bollywood to pair up with him for a special cameo in his forthcoming film Life Partner and had hoped his Tinseltown friends Lara Dutta and Katrina Kaif would agree to play this small but significant part. But when he approached them, both parties gave him the thumbs down citing date issues.
Apparently due to the actor's flagging star-power, the actresses turned down a special cameo in his next film.

We hear that Govinda is a little upset and sources close to the film say a small role coupled with the actor's flagging fortunes as a star might have not excited the B-Town girls.

A source close to the film says, "Since it was a special cameo where the heroine was required to play the part in 3-4 scenes and appear in a song, Govinda thought he would request Katrina as both Katrina and Salman Khan are very good friends. But Govinda was shocked when Katrina cited date issues and could not do the promotional song."

The insider adds, "Govinda then approached Lara for the cameo and she too turned him down because she was busy. Lara and Kat have worked with him before and he didn't expect that he would face a dead end with them. After two debacles, he was shattered that his friends were not there for him and tamely asked the director Rumi Jaffery to cast whoever he wants to as he can't do the needful."

That's when the producers thought it was time to step in and salvage the situation. They quickly zeroed in on Amrita Rao to do the song. Rumi confirms, "Yes, Amrita Rao has shot with us for three days including a song and it has turned out really well."
Govinda remained unavailable for comment.

What's common Between Lara Dutta, Jessica Simpson?

Bollywood beauty Lara Dutta is set to do what American actress-singer Jessica Simpson does - endorse the Indian adaptation of popular food chain Pizza Hut's campaign for its new dish called Cheesy Bites. Lara will don a red dress teamed with red boots just as Simpson did in a series of hugely successful Cheesy Bites commercials in the US. "The Cheesy Bites ad is totally fun just like the pizza where you can twist, pull and pop, cheese filled bites into your mouth. I am aware of the success that the campaign got in the US and I hope it is even more successful here in India," said Lara. Cheesy Bites is a unique pizza with 22 cheese-filled bites that form the pull-apart crust. In the US, these were made popular by Simpson, who played a sassy waitress in the TV commercial. The Indian advertisement will have Lara in the same avatar.

Lara Dutta will join Riteish and Boman as Co-host at IIFA Awards 09

The Idea IIFA Awards 2009 are just a few days away and with each passing day the excitement just keeps growing more and more, especially as the IIFA action shifts to Macau this year.

Most of Bollywood’s biggest stars are expected to make an appearance at the 10th edition of the IIFA Awards which kickstarts on June 11th 2009.

The host for this year’s IIFA is the same jodi which brought the house down with their funny antics last year. Yes…we are indeed referring to Boman Irani and Riteish Deshmukh. However, this time, Boman and Ritesh will also be joined by the gorgeous Lara Dutta who will co-host the gala event.

Among the performers expected to set the stage ablaze are Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor (for whom this will be a first live performance) and the hot-n-happening pair of Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra who would be seen doing a special act to promote their upcoming film Kaminey.

With such a star-studded line-up, one can’t wait for the action to start at the 10th IIFA awards in Macau.
