Rani Mukerji was the last name announced by Sony TV to be the judge in the ongoing dance reality show, “Dance Premier League” (DPL).Was it Aditya Chopra’s reference that got her the show? Sony TV and Yash Raj Films (YRF) share a very good business relationship.It seems that just two days before Sony made the announcement about Rani being part of the show, the channel signed an agreement with YRF for producing exclusive fiction and non-fiction content for the channel.

So now, Aditya Chopra and his talented team at YRF will be working as producers to create exclusive content for Sony TV.Incidentally the timing of both the agreements was quite interesting. YRF’s deal with Sony and Rani being part of DPL happened almost simultaneously.We wonder whether Rani came as a packaged deal for Sony as part of the agreement with YRF?Meanwhile, while shooting for the second episode of DPL, Rani communicated with one of the participants using sign language that she had learnt five years ago for her movie “Black”, in which she played a deaf and mute character.

One of the contestants on the show, Vishal, who was considered one of the best, was unfortunately deaf. After his performance, when it was the judges’ turn to comment, all of them spoke but Vishal could not understand a word.That’s when Rani conversed with him in sign language and even congratulated him for being different. While everyone danced on the sound, Vishal had danced guided by his instincts and that’s what impressed Rani.

No marriage on the cards, says Rani

Bollywood ki Rani, Rani Mukherjee is speaking loud and clear about her marriage in media. She makes a strong statement that gossips are fine as long as they do not harm anyone but media’s frequent report of her marriage has harm her career as no filmmaker approached her for a long time for the marriage tag. She added that she is not going to marry now.

Says Rani "There is no marriage on the cards. Not at all, no engagement and no marriage. I think [the press] have been trying to marry me off since the last three years and they are just not able to get a fix on the date. But just to clear the air, there is no marriage and there is none happening in the future also."

Rani added that that she is the only daughter of her parents and she does not want to hurt them by marrying secretly and when she will finally made up her mind to tie the knot, she will make the entire world know about the ceremony.

Currently, Rani Mukherjee is making her comeback in a grand way in Yash Raj’s ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ with Shahid Kapur.

Salman Khan cold to Shahid and Warm to Rani

Salman Khan is one actor in Bollywood who is known to have more enemies than friends. His list of foes is a long one including big stars like SRK and Salman Khan. Sallu Bhai also shares cold vibes with Shahid Kapoor which has its roots to their fights during the Rockstar tour a few years back.

Salman is not the one to bury the hatchets easily. So, when Shahid and Rani Mukherjee appeared on his show ‘Dus Ka Dum’ to promote their upcoming film, ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’, Salman was seen being dry and indifferent to Shahid.

Rani Mukherjee Loses 8 Kg to fit into Bikini

Rani Mukherjee was out of sight after giving several flops. But now she is back, and is looking like a bombshell after shedding those extra kilos, which made her look like an onscreen aunt. With her flick DilBole Hadippa opposite Shahid Kapoor, Rani is looking stunning in bikini.

Well the secret of how she lost 8 kilos is revealed. “Rani has been following a strict diet, yoga and weight plus cardio training. Also, she had a regular eye on her food habits, which helped her lose those extra pounds,” says the source.

“The actress being a Bengali loved to eat fish curry with steamed rice, but she replaced it with brown rice. Also, she had been gulping down lots of not so tasty vegetable juices, but at the end, the result is for everyone to be seen,” adds the source.

Rani’s fitness has become the talk of the town. “She, herself has worked hard for her new look. Rani was always regular to the gym and never missed even a single day. She is happyto get a slim look, as now she can wear whatever she wishes, and doesn’t need to think much,” concludes the source.

Rani may wear a Bikini in Yash Raj flick for the first time

Has Rani Mukerji worn a bikini in Bole To Hadippa? With top actresses flaunting two-piece swimwear or something close to it for Yash Raj projects, it sounds like a possibility.

The sworn-to-secrecy production folk, as usual, are guarded about the actress's two looks in the film directed by Anurag Singh. Shahid Kapoor is Rani's co-star.
Though the ongoing promos of the flick show her in disguise as a Sikh cricketer, the actress has also been styled in another chic avatar where she will be seen in bikini tops.

Says a source, "A song was shot recently with Rani in which she shed all inhibitions. She's ready to fire up the screen with her hot new body."

The actress has been working out for long with celeb trainer Satyadev 'Satya' Chaurasia who helped shape Aamir Khan for Ghajini. Sources close to the actress say she is extremely happy with the results and is really excited about her new avatar on screen."

Adds the source, "Hadippa also stars Rakhi Sawant and Sherlyn Chopra. Both girls are known for displaying skin. Rani who is the main star, has to be notches above. The actress has shed a lot of weight for Hadippa. This film is extremely important to her as she will be seen on the big screen after a long break. There has to be a novelty factor."

While Rani remained unavailable for comment, a Yashraj spokesperson refrained from commenting on her bikini appearance but maintained, "Shahid and Rani shot for the Hadippa Remix video, a while back. You can see their new looks in the video that airs on all channels today.

Rani Mukherjee Goes spiritual, on Fast!

To give a boost to her fledgling career, Rani Mukherjee has gone spiritual and of late, has been praying to God.

Despite working with big banners, her recent releases failed to have any impact at the box-office. Now it looks like only God can bring back the magic of Rani, the Bollywood actress who was once ruling the industry.

Rani has been on fast for the past three months and she will be observing it every Thursday for 40 weeks. A special puja was performed by a group of eight priests at the Sai Baba temple in Shirdi, Pune.

"It's a four hour-long puja, which begins with morning abhishek. A total of 108 prayers are offered in this puja. The last step is the maha aarti, in which Sai Baba is offered food and sweets, which is then distributed among the devotees," a pundit was quoted by a national daily as saying.

In a profession that witnesses ugly cat fights due to cut throat competition, Rani Mukherjee has taken the first step of complimenting a co-artist for her performance.

She surprised Sherlyn Chopra, who has a major role to play in the yet untitled Yash Raj Films production, by not just lending her tips on how to face the camera but also comparing her with none other than Hollywood legend Sophia Lauren!

The incident happened recently at BPCL Sports Club where the film, which stars Shahid Kapoor as the male lead, was being shot. Rani was in a particularly happy mood and showered praises on the girl who has not signed any other project than this Yash Raj film and is riding her luck on this single film.

She went ahead and called Sherlyn as a younger version of Hollywood legend Sophia Lauren. Since few years back, Bipasha Basu was compared with Sophia Lauren, Sherlyn was naturally ecstatic.

"Sophia Lauren comparison? Well, all I can say is that I am humbled. I think Rani has been overtly nice, but hey, who doesn't like compliments?

Being someone who is so mature and serious about her work, I sincerely hope that she really meant it when she said so. I would love to keep getting feedback and compliments from an actor of her stature", smiles Sherlyn.

The 1934 born Sophia Loren is an Academy Award-winning Italian film actress. She is widely considered to be the most popular Italian actress of her time and is also famous for being a major international sex symbol.

Moreover, for the shooting of a particular sequence, even though Rani Mukherjee was not required, she still hung around to see the way Sherlyn approached her scene.

Informs a source, "Sherlyn didn't have any clue that Rani was watching her on the monitor, especially for her close up shots. She was engrossed in her performance and was later told by one of the production unit members that Rani was very interested in knowing how she was delivering."The 'bindaas' and 'outrageous' young woman is happy that she was oblivious of Rani's presence on the sets.

"Thank goodness, that I came to know about it later because I would have been conscious had I known earlier that Rani was following what I was doing. You never know, I may not have delivered my natural best", says Sherlyn who is looking at reinventing her career while leaving the disappointment of Red Swastik (2007) behind.

As per a source from the production unit, Rani was watching Sherlyn's close up shots with keen interest as she is apparently quite fond of her never ending desire to learn the nuances of the art of portraying emotions. In fact, Rani also gave her tips on how to face the camera and explained to her how important it is to know technical details of the varied camera lenses.

"Sherlyn was glad that Rani was spending so much of quality time in discussing technical nuances with her", informs the source, "Sherlyn has done only a few films but Rani has been around for so long.

She is a reigning star and for someone like her to spend time with her says volumes about her humbleness and professionalism. She was being a friend as well as a mentor, a good combination indeed. Who wouldn't want to learn from a senior actor like her?"
