Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots to break all records

Last year Aamir Khan literally stormed the box office with his mega release Ghajini. And the actor is planning to better it with his new film 3 Idiots. Set to open over the Christmas weekend, Aamir and the distributors of 3 Idiots are planning to release over 4000 prints for the film. This would by far be the widest release ever for a Bollywood film and almost twice the number of prints for other blockbusters.

Apparently the film will open on Wednesday evening itself to make the most of the holidays ahead. A source from the corporate house backing the film said, “The idea is to more than double our investment in those four-five days. There is tremendous curiosity around 3 Idiots – so no one should return disappointed from the theatres without a ticket.

“Keeping the market scenario in mind, the makers have not oversold the film but are equally confident about the huge returns 3 Idiots is directed by Raj Kumar Hirani of Munnabhai MBBS fame. For Aamir it would be a chance to repeat the Christmas success of Taare Zameen Par and Ghajini.
