Ranbir, who debuted with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Saawariya' in 2007, wants to work hard on his acting career.
"It's the beginning of my career and I want to do better in acting. I am not at lazy in my real life as compared to Sid in the movie," says Ranbir.
The actor, who is in news often for his blooming romance with 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' co-star Deepika Padukone, plays a fun-loving guy in the film.
Sid is a lazy unmotivated slacker who takes his father's hard earned money for granted and spends his time attending parties and sleeping late hours in the morning.
"Sid is a person who is harassed by people because he does not know what he wants to do in life," Ranbir said.
However, a series of circumstances force him to take stock of his life. The young actor, who turned 27 recently, also feels lucky to have such a big fan following at the nascent stage of his career.
Directed by debutant filmmaker Ayaan Mukherjee, the film has been produced by Karan Johar and stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher and Supriya Pathak.
The three-film-old actor will be sharing screen space with two-time national award winner Konkona Sen, who plays an aspiring Bengali writer in the movie and the actor said that he had a fun time working with the actress.
"Konkona is a very mature actress and I am very happy to work with her. She was very supportive during the shooting of the film," Ranbir said.
"When Sid meets Aisha, his life completely changes. The film is their love story," Ranbir added.
Ranbir may still be waiting to register a hit to his name but the actor's hands are full with back to back big budget releases.
The actor will be seen opposite Katrina Kaif in 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' and Prakash Jha's ambitious project 'Rajneeti' apart from Yashraj banner's next movie 'Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year'.
